About the League

The Monday Men's league is a friendly league open to players of all skill levels.

We break teams into divisions so that people generally play at their skill level and that healthy competition can be maintained.

We had a full roster of 12 teams this year. We played 21 weeks each Monday except on holidays ending on March 5th. Next year we are hoping for a similar schedule which will be posted as soon as possible.

We now have 15 teams committed to playing next year! As a result we will be the first league to return to running two draws, 7PM and 9PM. Although this will make things slightly more difficult for our members, this is a tremendously good thing for our club. Our drawmaster is prepared to accomodate teams that must play in the 7PM slot. So long as we only have one or two teams that have that restriction there should be no problems. We would very much like to make this 16 teams to balance the schedule better. We are willing to accept teams of ANY skill level to make this happen.  If you left our club during the renovations and have been thinking of returning to Port Moody, now is the time to do it! If you have a team that would like to join next year, please contact me. If you don't have a team and want to join you can still contact me. There are always teams looking for extra players at the begining of every season.

As always we need more spares! If you want to play occasionally in the mens league, add your name to the spares list. Click on "be a spare signup" on the left side of this page. If you know someone who would like to spare, encourage them to sign up.

Each league is required to help out with the Learn to Curl program and the Junior program. Next year we will continue our policy of having teams that send volunteers receive a small boost in the points standings.

We now have an ice conditions feedback form on the website. Please appoint one member of your team to report ice conditions. The club and city ice staff and the club executive will read the blog and take corrective action. Ice conditions were poor at the start of the season, got better, and then tailed off towards the end of the year. At their best this year, conditions were better than they have been at any time since the renovations to the club began. The club executive and the league will continue the pressure to maintain the good conditions the whole season long.

If anyone has any questions or concerns about anything please feel free to email Kevin Perry at moc.ae@yrrepk

Thanks

Kevin Perry
