President's Message

Welcome to the Port Moody Curling Club

I am just looking at the calendar and thinking of how soon I will have to turn the page to August, but yet Curling has been a focus this spring and now into summer.

The club executive and I are excited as we look forward to another great season at Port Moody Curling Club with further improved ice and facility conditions, combined with a renewed energy and interest in the sport of curling from the 2010 Olympic Games.

We thank the outgoing executive for their dedication and efforts to the benefit of PMCC.
We also wish to recognize and thank the many members of the club and league executives for their time and dedication towards developing our club. We have some new and many long time PMCC volunteers and with their help, we have a great club to offer the Curling community.

We are holding our annual Open House and Registration night on September 10th, at 7pm in the Icehouse Lounge, upper level in the Port Moody Recreation Center. Come out and sign up to curl on the night that best suits your calendar.

There will be a Curl Canada Clinic on Sept 18th, a one day event that we will be registering people for at the Open House. The City of Port Moody will be running two Learn to Curl programs (5 weeks each); designed for people wanting to take up the sport.

We have a very social club, with curlers of all skill levels and ages. We have within our club; Esco, a teaching/development league; Senior and Junior programs; Men's and Mixed leagues. Come on out on Sept 10th and meet some of your fellow community members and have some fun! I hope to see you there.

Good Curling!
James McLeod
